Photobooth Images from PupCity

Hosted by the Portland Trailblazers and presented by Tavo

Pup City was a 1 km walk and festival at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, for Rip City fans and their dogs to get together during the offseason. The 2024 event took place on Saturday, July 27, and was presented by Tavo. Each ticket purchased included a donation to One Tail At A Time.

The City of Portland is passionate about its dogs, loving them as part of the family.

Thanks to everyone who came out and stopped by our booth. We loved meeting amazing people in our community who share our passion for animals.

PupCity 2024 Event Reflection

This event was such a delight to participate in. We do several popup events throughout the Portland Metro area, but this was our first time participating in PupCity. Hundreds of families arrived with their dogs in tow. Let’s not forget the Trailblazer hype teams, from the cheerleaders to the Trailblazer mascot, Blaze.

The weather was sheer perfection. Little Red Riding Hood would say, “Not too cold and not too hot; it was just right!”. Per usual I had my trusty sidekick with me, Mike. I couldn’t do what I do without him.

I had a few highlights from the day. The first was a participant who stopped by our booth early during the event. She shared that we had taken her dog’s portrait at the Doggie Dash a few years ago. It just happened to be her very favorite image of her pup. After a few years, it is still set as her computer desktop.

Secondly, I was chit-chatting with our neighboring vendor. I noticed she had a hand compression on and wanted to know if it helped a lot. My right hand has been troublesome for the last few months, and I have been looking for tools to help support it. Shortly after that, we realized that we were both breast cancer warriors and fellow flatties (an aesthetic flat closure, aka no reconstruction). It’s so bizarre, but you instantly feel a connection when you share a bond like this. I knew I needed to share my other niche business card, Warrior Women Portraits. The session provides a unique and empowering experience for cancer warriors through stunning imagery. She was beyond excited at the chance to do that type of session.

Each ticket purchased included a donation to One Tail at a Time Rescue. We were lucky to meet an adorable pup named Osprey (Bassett Hound Mix), looking for his forever home. He is such a sweet young boy, and don’t get me started on how soft his fur was. His tail wag will surely make you smile as his entire back end wiggles with excitement. If you want to add someone to your family, consider Osprey or the other adorable dogs looking for forever homes.

Is it time to update your family wall portrait?

Let’s connect if you want a full session with the entire family. Our spectacular city is perfect for any portrait backdrop, and we travel all over the Portland Metro area.

Working with us, you get a bonus. We’re educated in all types of animal temperaments. Energetic, we’ve got you. Reactive, we’ve got you. Blind, deaf, wheelchairs, etc….we’ve got you.
