Red the Color of Love

Pet Portraits

February 12, 2021

Everyone knows red is the color of love.  Red also happens to be my favorite color and has played a huge part in my entire life.  Red lipstick, red wine, red roses, red vines, my hair has been red, even my wedding colors were red and white.  Saying I love red would be a bit of an understatement.  When I think red, I think vibrant, warm, expressive and most of all, love!

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, I prefer the dog, but you’re alright too!

Since this post is about the color red and I’m already feeling the love, I thought I would take this time to talk about things I love providing my clients.  Each one of my clients is very special to me.   They have taken the step of entrusting us to capture that special moment or memory for all eternity.  This is not something to take lightly.  Because of this, I tend to treat my clients like family.  Even before we meet, we are talking, texting, and getting to know each other.  I have them fill out questionnaires telling me a bit about themselves.  Not because I’m nosey (OK I’m a little nosey), but because I want to create a session tailored to them, their likes, and their lifestyle.

During the session, it’s also a collaborative experience.  They are trusting me to get the right image and I am asking them right back what visions they might have as well.  I crack jokes, my assistant keeps them entertained as we move from place to place, it’s just as much about the experience as it is the end result.  After each session we like to leave them with a parting gift, just to show our appreciation for choosing me and letting me be a part of their lives, if only for a brief moment.  During our viewing sessions, I like to have their favorite snacks and drinks on hand.  I love creating an atmosphere that’s more like going over to a friend’s house to hang out rather than coming to a business.   It is my hope they leave feeling they had a one of a kind experience with someone who truly cares about them and their lives.  I love my clients!!

FUN FACT: Dogs don’t see color.

Roses are Grey, Violets are Grey, LOL I’m a dog!

Oh, that’s a nice and refreshing light blog post! I love it – red is definitely a great color – as I do more photography, I have learned to love it even more (but blue still wins for me). I have heard stories back and forth on whether dogs see color….and the last I heard, I thought the did see color, but not like humans – so not sure if that means they don’t see as many colors or what….
