Pinup & Pups Composites

Pinup & Pups

February 8, 2019

In 2018 I went to a workshop in Seattle called Animalhaus. It was all about commercial work, but the thing I got out of it the most was the clarity of my business. Here’s what I came up with:

  • I love the connection dogs have towards their humans!  The sayings true. “I aspire to be the person my dog thinks I am”. I’m not sure I can ever achieve such greatness but it’s worth a try.
  • Some dogs are described as therapy dogs. My boy Ollie is 100% my emotional support dog.  Jester, my other fur baby, is a grumpy old man. I love him deeply but Ollie and I have always had something special.  Some call this connection your heart dog. Ollie is 100% my heart dog.
  • Women Empowerment! We as females are so hard on ourselves but if I can capture an image to prove to them just how beautiful they are my job is done.
  • Pinup is a style I’ve always loved.  Pin curls, barrel rolls, and/or silk flowers clipped into my hair all are my style. Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon and a strong role model for women.

My goal is to capture the connection between humans and their canines while empowering women.

Pinup & Pups Stylized Experience was born!

In October I embraced my new findings and recruited 10 stunning everyday ladies to be photographed in this new stylized session I wanted to offer.  What you may not know is most Pinup shots are composites. That means using Photoshop to complete the look of an image.

I’d like to introduce you to the 10 women that allowed themselves to be vulnerable in front of the camera trusting that I was a professional. I couldn’t be happier.
