It’s all in the EYES

Tips & Tricks

January 25, 2019

I’M BACK!!!!  Sorry I’ve been gone for so long. Dec & Jan were exhausting so th blog just took a back burner, but..I’m here.

I decided why not write a new blog for the 52-week circle to get me started.  This week’s theme is all about eyes.  It’s no surprise that our eyes tell a lot about us. Just think of the saying “your eyes are windows to your soul”. That’s pretty darn impressive if you ask me, and kind of creepy if you think about looking into someone’s soul.

Just last week I was telling my husband that actors on Grey’s Anatomy have to perfect acting with just their eyes. They wear surgical masks so it’s all in the eyes. Try it! It will give you a good laugh if nothing else.

There is something about puppy dog eyes that I just adore and try to capture in all my close-ups.  What breed do you think of when you think BIG EYES?  Pugs?? Boston Terriers???   My boy Jester is a Shih Poo pictured below. Look that those big googly eyes.  *swoon*

It’s all in the eyes!!

Ultimately the breed I photograph the most is Pugs. I had no idea the number of pug lovers in the Portland area. Let me tell you, there’s a lot of them!

We recently photographed a family that is dedicated to helping pugs get the medical care they need and new forever homes.  Brian is the President of the Pacific Pug Rescue & owner of Buster & Lilly’s Doggie Daycare.  I work with the PPR photographing rescues needing to be adopted as well as some of their fun events.

I was lucky enough to photograph Brian’s entire family.

I’d like you to meet: Tank, Lizzie, B.J. & Bijou. Look at those faces.

Don’t worry about Brian tackling all 4 of these adorable babies alone. He’s got a great husband, Shane.  Look at this beautiful six pack.  No gym required!

If you’re looking to rescue a pug or need a great daycare in the Tigard area check out the links above. You won’t be sorry.

This is a blog circle and it’s time to move on to the next photographer and see what magic they came up with for this weeks theme.
