Lilly – The Golden Retriever and her parents Richard & Mary.
Richard, Mary, and Lilly came to me as a silent auction winner from Dove Lewis. If you’ve never attended the annual Wet Nose Soiree you should keep your eye out for next years gala. It’s such an amazing event that it sells out every year.
I met with Mary & Richard for a consult, and after talking with them I knew Cathedral Park had to be the shoot location. When it comes to picking a location for my clients I brainstorm ideas that will match my clients tastes. Their Golden Retriever, Lilly, loved the water but we needed a park that offered other areas prior to getting wet. They warned me if she saw the water that was all she would want to do. Thankfully this park could provide us with both.
Please enjoy these images from Richard, Mary, and Lilly Golden Retriever at Cathedral Park Portland Oregon.
We started them off up on the top of the park that overlooks the cathedral portion of the bridge. It provides an amazing frame for my subjects. Due to it being such a stunning location you do have to wait your turn as many photographers use this location. By starting at the top and working our way to the water we could achieve different looks as well as keeping Lilly from the water as long as we could.
Once we reached the water Lilly was ready to retrieve her ball as many times as we’d throw it. She wasn’t super fast, but dedicated none the less.
SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE….SHAKE YOUR BOOTY
One final image after playtime where everyone is tad dirty, which is totally ok!
This blog post is two for the price of one. Not only is this a post about my clients Richard, Mary, and Lilly but my blog circle theme is BROWN. Lilly – The Golden Retriever was my muse.

Love Lily’s photos in the cathedral, and you can tell she had so much fun playing! But, oh, the sand in the hair after she went swimming.
Isn’t the cathedral so beautiful? I can only imagine how much sand came out of her fur during her bath. A true sign of a fun day!
Beautiful images and what a gorgeous location! Love the family photos – especially that first one – stunning!
