REVIST & RE-EDIT

March 23, 2018

I’ve wanted to do this for some time now. Revisit & Re-Edit older images.  Many photographers will edit images and then go back to review them the next day.  Your eye can start adjusting to color, exposure, etc…  Just giving your eyes a rest and going back can make you see more clearly.

Enjoy my take on Revisit & Re-edit theme:

The first image is upping the contrast as well as removing the leash. Many times I’ll show only a few images with the leash being removed, and tell my clients IF they like an image that still has a leash not to fret. I’ll remove it. It just saves a lot of edit time if they aren’t images a client selects. Your favorite may not be theirs. You just never know.

The next one I realized the contrast and richness of the trees needed to be bumped up.  What do you think?

On a different note….if you’re a photographer reading this you may want to know the plugin I used for these side by side slides. It’s a plug-in called twenty20. Another blog circle participant used it and I had to ask what it was. The before and after visual is so fun. A true representation of the work we photographers do behind the scenes after a session.

Well it’s time to move on Mikahla Dorey at Brackson Photography, Pet Photographer in Nova Scotia Canada where she will show you images she revisited.

  1. Kim Hollis says:

Yes I love that before and after slider. I didn’t even know that it was available on squarespace so thank you!!!! and that last dog in his shirt and hat… omg!!

    • Danyel Rogers says:

Well there ya go Kim. Now you have a new “toy” to play with. I loved his outfit too. Isn’t it just the cutest!

  2. Kelly Middlebrooks says:

Wonderful edits! The slider that I use like this (I use Weebly) is called… wait for it… Before and After. 😉

  3. SamAdele says:

These are great! I agree with your thoughts on the second image – looks a lot more dramatic with the contrasty trees!

    • Danyel Rogers says:

Thanks Sam. It’s crazy how your eyes start to make things look good when there’s so much improvement you can do.

  4. Mike says:

Fantastic work. Amazing how creative editing can give you a completely new image.

  5. Tim Evans says:

I wish I could do a before/after slider. Alas, I use Squarespace, and that seems to be one of its limitations.

  6. Linda Perdue says:

Thanks for the name of the slider! Not sure how exactly I can incorporate into Zenfolio…..I love the edits, some are very suttle but very effective!
