It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog. I was having a custom website created. It officially went live and I’m back folks. Did you miss me? Ok more importantly did you miss seeing an adorable dog? I’ve missed blogging about them that’s for sure.
Let’s get to business. This week’s theme is WATER. It just so happens that I recently attended a retreat in Corona Del Mar, California. It was put on by Retreats by BARKography. If you’re into a fun-filled weekend with like-minded pet photographers you should sign up for a future retreat. I had never partaken in a retreat or workshop in which I had to fly somewhere (I hate to fly). I met some great ladies that I now consider friends. We spent several days sharing each other’s little nuggets of information we may have had.
In the first session we photographed 3 pups from Lovebugs Rescue (Mrs. Nesbit, Winkie, and Mario) out at Corona Del Mar Beach. I didn’t get too much time with Mrs. Nesbit & Winkie but Mario…. melted my heart. He was set to be euthanized before they rescued him, and thank goodness they did. I can’t imagine a world without this little boy. He had great manners, knew how to perfectly walk on a leash, and honestly, I’m not sure I ever heard him bark. If you’re interested in possibly adopting one of these sweet babies head over to the Lovebugs website.
The next session was a sunrise session at Little Corona Del Mar Beach.
Now if you know me you know I’d prefer to stay up late and sleep in, which is more suited for a sunset session. Alas I was there to learn so I bucked up and rolled out of bed. Once we got down to the beach the light started rising. We all hustled to get our lights setup so we could get to work. The frustration set in when I couldn’t get my light to trigger. I checked batteries, connection, etc.. nothing. *face palm* I didn’t have the transmitter on my camera. I knew it was too early for me to function fully.
We spent a good amount of time with Toby and his mom. I’d say we were there for a good 2+ hours trying different things. They were complete troupers. I can only imagine how it must have felt to have not 1 but 4 cameras pointing at you.
There was another session at Huntington Beach, CA but I think I’m going to hold off sharing those. I don’t want you to get overloaded with the cuteness!
You have reached that time in my blog to move to the next photographer and see what their interpretation is of the theme – WATER.
